Platform for centralizing civic activities
CIVICOM is my personal project that solves a concrete problem: information about civic activities in Romania is scattered across Facebook groups, WhatsApp conversations, and Instagram pages. There is no central place where a citizen who wants to get involved can search. The platform brings everything into one system. NGOs, organizers, and ordinary citizens can create, follow, and participate in civic actions without jumping between platforms. In the first 30 days after launch, 60 people registered on their own, without any promotion.
During development, four nationally active NGOs tested the platform and provided direct feedback: Dăruiește Viață, Medici pentru România, Corupția Ucide, and Niciodată Singur. They were chosen because they cover different fields, from medical aid and civic transparency to community support and mobilization campaigns. The response was positive and confirmed that the need for this kind of tool is real, and that the features built are going in the right direction.
Create and sign petitions directly on the platform. Signatures update in real time, and the organizer sees detailed statistics from the dashboard.
Organize or join protests and boycotts. Each event includes an interactive map with the location and, where applicable, the march route.
Organize charity fundraisers. The platform automatically generates a SEPA QR code with bank account details that participants can scan directly from the app.
Discover and organize community events near you: volunteering, neighborhood initiatives, or local projects open to anyone who wants to get involved.
Follow the NGOs and organizers you care about. When they publish a new event, you get notified automatically.
Every event goes through human review before being published. If rejected, the organization can file an appeal directly on the platform and receives a response with the reasoning behind the decision.
Before being allowed to publish events, each organization goes through a verification process. This prevents fake organizations and ensures that what gets published comes from legitimate sources.
Register your NGO on the platform, add team members and manage all your events from a single dashboard. Each event has its own statistics on participants and feedback.
Organizer Dashboard — Every organizer has access to a personal dashboard with statistics for each event: number of participants, petition signatures, and feedback received.
Anonymous Petition Signing — Visitors without an account can sign petitions by filling in a few identification fields. No registration required.
NGO Rating — After attending an event, users can rate the organizing NGO from 1 to 5 stars, helping others discover trustworthy organizations.
Public NGO Profile — Each organization has a public profile page visible to everyone, including visitors without an account, showing their events, rating, and activity.
